2nd day to Econ Healthcare home.
The 2nd time we went to the home was on a friday morning.
We could not do the cleaning as the helpers there had already finished it before 9.
Today was also the first time we saw and talked to mr anderson.
He was a very nice man.
He told us about the people here and how he helped them.
(:
I bought 3 apples which the people in healthcare wanted.
then later in the afternoon, we sliced them into pieces to distribute.
(:
While in the morning,
we helped out with the eldery with there physcial workout.
it was fun.
WE learned how to play passing ball (the ball was so big)
we also learned how to help them lift weights and also to do cycling OO
haha !
Then after that we went to visit the friends we made last time.
most of them still remembered us.
There was also this very friendly auntie who only remembered me.

hahas.
anyway.
we talked and talked.
It was such an interesting and fun filled day to spend at the home.
maybe we should go there some other time.

First trip to Econ Healtcare Home
It was the first trip to a home where i could finally meet and communicate with the old folks.
I was actually really very scared and afraid that i would say something that would offend them.
I was also afraid that they would not like that normal , cheerful me.
As we finally stepped into the home,
i was getting really worried until we met the uncles, aunties and the helpers in the home.
Ms Vivi was very welcoming and polite.
she was the head of left in charge of things in the home when mr anderson was not there to help out.
Ms vivi showed use around and left us to communicate with the aunties and uncle on the 2nd and 3rd storey.
Xue wen and i took the 3rd floor whereas karyeo and zihui took the 2nd storey.
as we entered the males department,
there were a lot of uncles who were lying on there bed as their eyes wandered around the room.
We went to the youngest uncle who we found there,
He was a China man who had fallen from his working place and was hospitalised before he waas sent here.
We talked alot to him .
Then we went to other uncles who were also in the same room.
They were all really friendly.
There was one chinese uncle who give me and xue wen 2 apples which was later 'stolen' by 2 uncles.
hahas.
then, there was one german man who was very funny, he called me his wife and i was very confused and shocked >< !
hahas.
what an exciting day i had.

post:feelings about CIP work
We did some CIP work in homes and we really enjoyed ourselves.It was hard work but we did our best. The home we visited was a home for the nearby elderly who lived in the neighbourhood. It was built for them to enjoy their time when their families are not at home and is opened throughout the week.We went there to visit the elders to talk and play with them. Many of them were chinese and the malay students in our class were afraid that they cannot communicate with them at first. But in the end with some help and understanding, we got through the difficulties and had a really great time. :] We had some karaoke with the elderys and one of us sang an old folk song for them to hear. It was very funny and everyone laughed.I hope we could visit that home again next time.
I think that CIP is a very good project for us to learn more skills and learn more things about other people in our community.Although it is time consuming, we should set aside some time for us to do community work as it gives us the enjoyment and fun we might never find in our daily lives and we can aso help others. Helping others is also a good thing right? Haha. It can also help us to relax a while from work.
